Info

In 2004, Lech has been voted most beautiful village in Europe. A title the village and its inhabitants carry with great pride. Around 1,500 people live in Lech and Zürs. It‘s them who make this place so special. Traditions are kept alive, and visitors are always welcomed with a big smile and an open heart.

Lech is located at 1,450 metres above sea level and charmingly nestled in the Alps. This brings a refreshing mountain breeze in summer, and a gorgous snow-covered landscape in winter. Connoisseurs value Lech because it’s sophisticated and has cosmopolitan flair, while still being homey and hospitable. This unique blend of tradition and modernity allows guests, locals and employees a quality of life that is found nowhere else.

The Arlberg is one of the best ski resorts in the world – and perhaps the most beautiful.

To clear out a common misconception: The Arlberg is not a mountain but a pass which connects the Austrian provinces of Tyrol and Vorarlberg. It is the brand name of a region that stands for tradition, quality, and nature. The region consists of five villages: The luxurious Lech, the sophisticated Zürs, the cozy Stuben, the exclusive St. Christoph, and the sporty St. Anton at the Arlberg.

Our Hotel Schranz is located in Lech at the Arlberg. Remarkable is that in the Arlberg region winter athletes only need one single lift pass. The lift pass is your entrance ticket to a snow paradise with nearly 90 lifts and cable cars, more than 280 km of slopes, and 180 km of deep-snow slopes. For your convenience, ski busses operate free of charge between the villages of the Arlberg. Also, the chairs of our lifts are heated. So you can enjoy the beautiful view while floating up to 2,811 metres above sea level – without wishing for a warming blanket. Sun terraces for après-ski and a variety of activities such as ice skating, Bavarian curling, tobogganing, cross country skiing, winter hiking, and sleigh rides make winter holidays at the Arlberg fun for the whole family.

In summer, the Arlberg is a popular destination for climbers, hikers and people who love the unique beauty of the Arlberg. We may live far away from the bustle of a city. However, we have everything to offer you might be looking for. Just ask us – we are happy to help. In the meantime, you can find a list of the main shops and services the Arlberg region has to offer at Lech-Zürs-Tourism.

You might be suprised that at the Arlberg top-notch chefs do their art in award-winning „Hauben“ restaurants. But be assured: a culinary fireworks is just waiting to explode on your tase buds.

And another thing: Of course you can test, rent, or buy the latest skis and snowboards at the Arlberg. One of the many advantages that come with spending your vacation where the world‘s best skiers are at home.
